Entry to the 38 museums, monuments and palaces belonging to the public company Museus e Monumentos de Portugal will now be free for Portuguese residents on any day of the week.
The announcement was made on Saturday, Museum Day, by the Minister of Culture, Dalila Rodrigues.
The previous Government had already made entry to all State's museums, monuments and palaces free on Sundays and holidays for citizens residing in Portugal from September 1, 2023.
Now, the measure has been extended to any day of the week. However, there is a limit of 52 free entries a year - once each week - and validation will be done via an app.
The Minister says they are working out the final details before the mesure enters into force, which should be soon.
